I headed to the Bavarian Bier Café in Chatswood the other night
for a couple of drinks. It is just next to the station and is easily
accessible, with plenty of other bars close by. There are also 9 other Bavarian
Bier Cafés throughout Sydney such as in Manly and Bondi.
It has a large range of European beers and schnapps and also
has a restaurant attached which is open for lunch and dinner. With drink prices
ranging from around $7 to $21 each this is not the kind of bar you would want
to visit every day but in my opinion, the novelty of a 1 litre stein is worth
$20 any day.
Something definitely worth trying out is the Tuesday Giant Schnitzel
and Schnapps Challenge. On a Tuesday if you head down, you can get the giant
Lowenschnitzel for only $17, and if you are able to finish it you get a free
shot of schnapps.
In summary the Bavarian Bier Café is a good place to enjoy
and casual drink or meal every once in a while for a different experience.
