Star Bar

Star Bar is located right next to Town Hall station on George Street and is a bar I go to quite regularly. It is right in the middle of George Street with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.
With beer and house spirits for less than $5 before 11 o’clock, it is the perfect place to go for pre-drinks in the city before heading off to another bar or club. After 11 the drinks become expensive though and because of this the bar often empties out around then. It is also a good place to go for just a quiet night out with cheap drinks, lots of pool tables, descent music and TVs to watch some sport.

I normally head out to Star Bar on a Friday or Saturday night from 8 or 9 and have some cheap drinks before heading to a more expensive bar to save some money, or just go there for quick catch-ups with friends, and this venue is ideal for this.

Celebrate in KTV

KTV can refer to Karaoke television, a form of interactive musical entertainment. It’s like a room that has a screen and has a jukebox to let you choose some music to sing the song. It is a best way to celebrate anything you feel happy. You can go anytime and just need to book a room.

I like go to KTV with my friend because it seems like a party room and we can drink some alcohol and have fun inside the room. I’ve been the K2 with my friends; it cost us $48 per hours in a small room and buys some beers and black label. In Sydney, we can go to central that has some KTV, such as you can go to the K2, CEO and RedBox. You can go anytime but you need to book first because sometimes there are not enough room for everyone specially in some public holiday and Saturday.specially in some public holiday and Saturday.

Gambling in Casino

In Sydney, it is a good place for many people who like gambling so much, because it has the casino in star city. Well, it is 24 hours open; people spend their night time, especially some gambling lover. It is a exciting game to find out how is your luck.

For my experience, I always go to casino at midnight after drinking, we have to remember bring the photo ID or passport, the security will check your ID see are you over 18, unless you can steer by the security, but I think it is not going to happen. There are lots of games that you can play such as Black jack, slot, and roulette, Craps, Poker and Baccarat etc. also, you can eat diner in the casino and live because there are some restaurants and of course they have the hotel room for let you stay as long as you want when you got enough money. It is a great place to have fun in Sydney at night.

Bavarian Bier Café

I headed to the Bavarian Bier Café in Chatswood the other night for a couple of drinks. It is just next to the station and is easily accessible, with plenty of other bars close by. There are also 9 other Bavarian Bier Cafés throughout Sydney such as in Manly and Bondi.

It has a large range of European beers and schnapps and also has a restaurant attached which is open for lunch and dinner. With drink prices ranging from around $7 to $21 each this is not the kind of bar you would want to visit every day but in my opinion, the novelty of a 1 litre stein is worth $20 any day.

Something definitely worth trying out is the Tuesday Giant Schnitzel and Schnapps Challenge. On a Tuesday if you head down, you can get the giant Lowenschnitzel for only $17, and if you are able to finish it you get a free shot of schnapps.

In summary the Bavarian Bier Café is a good place to enjoy and casual drink or meal every once in a while for a different experience.

Conception Day 2012

It’s been a few days now and I have recovered so I am finally able to write about my experiences at Conception Day. As usual, Conception Day was on the last day of week 7 at Macquarie Uni. And as usual, everyone skipped their early morning classes to go get drunk in the sun instead.

Thursday threatened us with the possibility of a rainy day, but it turned out to be hot and sunny, perfect for getting sunburnt and dehydrated on the fields of beautiful Macquarie Uni.
Here are my tips for enjoying your time at Conception Day that I personally learnt this year:
  • Tip 1: don’t try to save money by throwing a bottle of vodka under the fence to some friends, security are watching and will confiscate it
  • Tip 2: if you’re going to start drinking at 10 in the morning, try to eat at least one meal all day to avoid disastrous consequences
  • Tip 3: don’t pull off your wristband in a drunken haze, the police will kick you out
  • Tip 4: don’t throw mi goreng all over the indoor dance floor, security will also kick you out for this

By following these simple rules, Conception Day will be a great day with good music, good friends and hopefully at least a few memories…

Remember to vote in our poll on the sidebar and tell us what your favourite thing about Conception Day is!
